Vehicle thefts in Cannock

We have had a series of keyless vehicle thefts in Cannock, predominantly Norton Canes, and a number of attempt vehicle thefts.

CCTV shows that two to three offenders are using a vehicle to get around the streets from late evening and early hours of the morning.

Offenders have been seen to park on driveways or across the driveway, turn security lights around, and cover CCTV and or Ringdoor Bell. They have smashed vehicle windows when they have failed to make a keyless entry.

Adding a physical deterrent like a steering wheel lock or gear clamps will help secure your vehicle. A ghost alarm has prevented one vehicle from being stolen - ghost alarms will not emit signals, so are not susceptible to offenders using devices to relay a signal to unlock or start a vehicle.

If you are using a faraday pouch - if you can, test the pouch by pressing the fob whilst it is in the faraday pouch. 

Keep the faraday pouch or case away from the front door, ideally opposite end of the house from where the vehicle is parked

Vehicles targeted included BMW's, Land Rovers, and Jaguar.
